PIPELINE-BOUND: A taskforce of engineers is expected to assess the Druzhba pipeline’s condition today, two EU diplomats told Rapporteur. Ursula von der Leyen said on Tuesday that European experts were ready to deploy immediately.

Whether the taskforce deploys depends on Ukraine granting security clearances. If approved, the visit would mark a major development in the spat between Budapest, Bratislava and Kyiv over the pipeline that carries Russian crude through Ukraine to the EU. More below.
